RomeConcerts promotes Opera and Classical Music by staging in the Heart of Rome, a Concert Season that takes place from the beginning of March to the end of November every week, uninterruptedly.
Founded by the tenor Alessandro Fantini and the pianist Giovanni Velluti, two Roman musicians, with international careers, RomeConcerts aims to bring high quality Classical Music Concerts and Opera in Rome, in the full Heart of the City.
Opera was born in Italy in 1597 and Italian Opera, with its great composers, including Rossini, Bellini, Donizetti, Verdi and Puccini, has continued to play a dominant role in the history of the form until the present day.
Tosca is the Roman opera par excellence. The story takes place in Rome, at the time of the fall of the first Roman Republic on a precise date: Saturday, June 14, 1800, the day of the Battle of Marengo. The first act is set in the church of Sant'Andrea della Valle, the second in Palazzo Farnese and the third in Castel Sant'Angelo.
Featuring classics of Italian Opera and romantic piano music, the concert Opera Greatest Hits in Rome will take you on a musical journey you will treasure. After the concert you can enjoy an aperitivo with the artists and get to know the people behind the music. No Italian event is truly complete without a glass in your hand and some quality socialising!
It is an evidence that Italian Opera and Romantic Piano Music enjoy a close connection. One of the aims of our recital is to underline this connection thanks to some of the most representative pieces among the Italian Opera repertoire and Chopin's and Liszt's masterworks.
